Preliminary information
As mentioned above, among the many animals you can tame in Minecraft there is also the parrot. This creature, in case you were wondering, hasn't always been available in the game: it was added starting with version 1.12 of the Java Edition (for PC) and version 1.2 of the Bedrock Edition (the one available for Windows 10, furniture and consoles).
It must be said that parrots are not animals that help the player during fights, such as wolves for example. The only reason it's interesting to tame them is to keep the player company. They are birds that bring joy and are useful on some occasions.
Of all this, however, I will talk to you in detail in the next chapters, in which I will explain how to find a parrot and how to manage to tame it, as well as providing you with some useful information on the behavior of these creatures.
How to tame a parrot in Minecraft
So if you want to know how to tame a parrot in minecraft, in the next chapters I will explain how to easily perform this operation. All you have to do is pay attention to all the tips that I will point out to you and put them into practice.
Collect the seeds
To be able to tame a parrot in Minecraft it is important to have the right food, so as to attract the attention of the animal. You must know, in fact, that parrots are greedy for semi of any type and you can find them in large quantities in the world of Minecraft.

Taming a parrot
Now that you've got the seeds, it's time to see how you can tame a parrot. First, you need to be able to find one - the natural habitat of parrots in Minecraft is there jungle, therefore you will need to locate this biome first.
While you shouldn't have much trouble finding a jungle, you can also achieve this by using the command console. All you have to do is use the command /locatebiome minecraft:jungle within the latter and identify the coordinates of the biome of this type closest to your position. You can also quickly reach the aforementioned location by teleporting.
Well: after spotting a parrot (usually found in the trees), try to approach slowly, taking care to place the semi in a quick slot. At this point, with the seeds equipped, interact on the parrot.
It will take you several tries before you can tame the animal. If the attempt to feed it fails, you will notice smoke around the bird. I warn you that it might fly away, but you can easily follow it, as Minecraft parrots fly low and travel short distances.
If, after feeding the parrot, you should see hearts appear around it, it means that the operation was successful. From this moment on, the creature will follow you wherever you go.
Parrot behavior
Parrots in Minecraft have a somewhat bizarre behavior, but one that can certainly cheer up the player. But let's go in order, in order to describe everything you will have to expect from a tame parrot.
First, know that the parrot will follow you as long as you allow it. In fact, by interacting on it, you can put it in the position "sitting" that will prevent him from following you. By interacting with the parrot again, you will remove the imposed order and it will start flying around your avatar.
As for nutrition, parrots in Minecraft don't need food. The only food you can interact with this bird is the Biscotto, but it turns out to be deadly. Therefore, I advise you never to offer a biscuit to a tame parrot, if you don't want to lose it for good.
As for the other behaviors, the parrot can rest on the shoulder player avatar. Basically, he will always favor the left shoulder. If already occupied by another parrot, then it will go to the right one. In total, the avatar can hold one parrot per shoulder. Also, if you find yourself next to a turntable playing with music playing, the parrot will start playing. dance without stopping.
Finally, I also want to warn you that the parrot has a very useful ability, if you take it with you on your adventures: when the bird is within 20 cubes of a hostile creature, it will imitate the verse, pointing in the direction where it is. Interesting, right?
