Well, as already mentioned in the introduction of the article, the function Keep Inventory does nothing more than allow the user to keep items in the quick inventory even after the character has been defeated by enemies or has died for some reason.
In particular, we are talking about the Survival mode, in which it is indeed important to try not to die, as in that case all the hard obtained / manufactured objects are lost (as I also explained to you in my tutorial on how to survive on Minecraft).
By activating the Keep Inventory feature, implemented in the game directly from the developers (so you can use it safely without consequences on your departure), it is therefore possible to have much more fun, at least in the conception of a certain type of players: if you are part of these, continue reading to find out how to "move".
How to activate commands on Minecraft
To take advantage of the Keep Inventory, it is first necessary activate the commands: those that in other video games would be commonly called tricks and that allow you to change some game rules.
To proceed in the Java version of Minecraft to PC (I used the 1.16.1 edition to give you this example), just start Minecraft, press the button Single player, by your complaint Create a new world and commands (in order to set the option to Yes) is Create a new world. This will start a game where you can use the "tricks".
If, on the other hand, you are playing the Bedrock version of Minecraft, available on the Windows 10 store, on mobile devices and on consoles, you don't need to go through this step, as you can enable everything in a single step, as I'll show you later. I remind you that by using the cheats you will not get any trophies, but the game should have already warned you about this.
How to put the Keep Inventory in Minecraft
After explaining to you which options to enable to use the cheats, I would say that it is time to take action and enable Keep Inventory.
To proceed in the Java version of Minecraft per PC, open the game and start a game into the world you created following the directions I explained to you in the previous chapter. After that, press the button T on the keyboard and type the command / gamerule keepInventory true, pressing Submit per confirm it.
The game will confirm that the change has been made. To make a concrete test, you can try, for example, to pick up a flower and let your character drown under water.
In this way, after pressing on the button You are reborn, if everything has been done properly, you will see that you will still have the item that your character was holding in his hand.
If, on the other hand, you usually play the Bedrock version of Minecraft, just open the game, go to the path Play> Create New> Create New World, select the tab Game I will post your ON option first Activate the cheats and then that Maintain inventory, then pressing the buttons Continue e Crea.
If you have one game already created, all you have to do is press thepencil icon present next to it in the main menu and move to ON the same options described above, then Activate the cheats e Maintain inventory.
Once in the game, you can take the same test that I explained to you earlier, picking up any object and trying to kill your character in some way (even, for example, by going over a cactus).
Then press the button You are reborn and you will see that the object will have remained in thequick inventory. In case you were wondering, I tested the procedure with the latest version of Minecraft Bedrock available, so you shouldn't have any particular difficulty using the Keep Inventory.

For this reason, in addition to the version 1.16.1, I decided to test other, or the most popular ones, as well, finding that the procedure to follow is always the same. For example, I asked myself how to put the Keep Inventory on Minecraft 1.12 and I found that the command to use is always / gamerule keepInventory true.
In short, simply, unlike the most recent versions, those older, at least up to 1.12 (which is one of the most used in the mod field), they do not have the "suggestions" related to the commands, but the Keep Inventory works the same way.
