Preliminary information
If you want to know how to become an animal in Minecraft, know that this operation is possible only through the use of a special one against available for Minecraft Java Edition. Unfortunately, there are no other solutions that you can put into practice to achieve this and, therefore, you cannot continue if you use Minecraft in the Bedrock version on Windows 10, video game consoles or mobile devices.
If you really can't install any mods in your Minecraft, you might want to think about turning your attention to the skin, however limited they are. If I had never heard of it (but I doubt!) They are elements that allow you to change the appearance of your avatar and, among these, there are also some that allow the avatar to resemble an animal (albeit with largely lower than those obtainable with the mod I'm about to tell you about).

That said, let's get to the heart of this guide and see how to use mods to transform your Minecraft avatar into an animal or any creature in the game world.
How to become an animal in Minecraft PC
As already mentioned, for become an animal in Minecraft from PC you need to install a mod that targets the Java Edition of the game. To do this, you must first download and install Minecraft forge: An add-on for Minecraft Java Edition that allows you to run most of the mods available for the game in question.
Reach, therefore, the official site of Forge and, through the left sidebar, choose the version of the tool compatible with both the version of Minecraft you use and with the mod you want to install (which I will talk about in more detail shortly). In case you want to know how to change the version of the Minecraft client, you can refer to what I have indicated to you in this guide of mine.
Once this is done, download the Forge installation file by pressing the button Installer that you find in the section Download Latest of the site. After downloading the file .JAR of Forge, then click on it and then, in the screen that is shown to you, press the button OK, to confirm its installation.
Now that you have Minecraft Forge installed, it's time to get the mod you will use to be able to turn your avatar into an animal. What you have to do, therefore, is to withdraw the file .JAR of the mod Changeling from the CurseForge.com website (one of the many databases where you can download add-ons for Minecraft), by pressing the button Download that you find at the top right.
In addition to the mod Changeling, you need to download the mod as well DominionLibThis is another essential add-on for everything to work properly. You can find the aforementioned mod at this link and download it via the button Download located at the top right.
After downloading the mod files I told you about in the previous paragraph, place the appropriate ones file .JAR inside the folder mods, which you can find in the path C: Users [username] AppDataRoaming.minecraft on your PC or in the path ~ / Library / Application Support / minecraft on your Mac. If you can't find this folder, you can create it manually.
At this point, all you have to do is perform the last operations: start the client Minecraft, press the ▼ icon located next to the button Play and select the profile Forge. At this point, press the button Play, to start Minecraft with mod support.
After starting a new world in Minecraft, it's time to see how to use the mod Changeling. You need to know, first of all, that you need to acquire the creature's skin, so that you can then transform into it. Therefore, all you have to do is defeat any creature or animal, to get its skin, which you will find floating on the ground to be picked up.
Alternatively, you can simply press the key B of the keyboard, to access the mod panel with the list of all the creatures you can assume the appearance of. Select, therefore, the one you are interested in and press the button Acquire, up. Then press the button Esc and then the button again B, to access the panel and view the changes made.
Finally, to transform yourself into a creature, select the latter and press the key Morph, up. From this moment on, you will take on the role of the animal of your choice and, if skills are available, you can perform them using the button V.
To return to normal, all you have to do is press the point button. Funny, right?
